
Meet Karina L Rodriguez, LCSW, MSEd, MPA.
Karina Rodriguez has served as a Clinical Therapist for the past five years at Pediatric Partners, Harmony Recovery Group and The SWEET Network helping address the mental health needs of children, adolescents and adults. By providing a wide range of psychotherapy therapeutic services that include mindfulness, self-help, parenting coaching, trauma informed care and healing techniques. With a focus on depression, anxiety, ADHD, ASD, oppositional defiance, crisis support, self harm, obsessive compulsion and substance abuse.

Karina is a Latina Social Worker with over 22 years of experience, served New York City Department of Education (DOE) from 2006 and through 2020, as the Director of School Counseling for multiple districts. In this capacity, Karina strived to advance 151 schools serving 121,800+ students by leading professional development initiatives for the school counselors, social workers, and student support personnel who work to positively impact students' social-emotional development and academic success. Karina specifically focused her efforts on creating and implementing action plans to increase student support while specializing in pupil personnel support, DOE policies, legal mandates, school development, and community services.

Examples of her successful initiatives include Social Emotional Conferences, Attendance Improvement Programs, creating School Crisis Teams, delivery of leadership skills-building opportunities, and facilitating programs for Black and Latino males to help close the achievement gap. Karina is a lecturer professor at Columbia School of Social Work.
Karina is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Social Work Field Instructor, and School Building Leader. She also holds a Life Space Crisis Intervention and Restorative Trainer certification and is an active member of the National Association of School Social Workers.

Karina holds a Master’s Degree in Education Administration from Baruch College, as well as Master’s Degrees in Public Administration and Social Work, both from Columbia University in addition to her Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies from Long Island University and completing the Diplomacy Program at the Foreign Affairs College of China. Individual
Clients will receive one-on-one counseling or talk therapy, as a form of mental health treatment, to address their psychological and emotional issues, support for managing stress, anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, substance abuse issues, and stress management and other emotional challenges. In order to help clients understand and cope with their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and develop strategies for resolving personal and interpersonal problems.
Family Therapy
Available to families members seeking to work together to improve their relationships and address issues that may be affecting the family unit. Such as resolving conflicts and improving family dynamics, addressing behavioral problems or mental health issues that affect the family, and learning to foster a supportive and nurturing family environment.
Counseling Crisis Support
Crisis support counseling is available to clients seeking short-term intervention, and who are experiencing a crisis (grief, loss, self harm, panic attacks, life transition, or active ideation). It can help people understand their reactions, improve coping strategies, and connect with resources as needed. And develop safety planning to help restore individuals to normal functioning.
Ecotherapy - Walk and Talk Therapy
In-person only, this is designated for individuals to process and explore their thoughts while being outdoors and utilizing body movement to help alleviate mental health symptoms and activate the adaptive information processing mechanism in the brain. Requires signature of specific confidentiality waiver and informed consent form.
Parenting Coaching
Sessions are designed to provide parents with guidance, tools, and emotional support to improve their parenting skills and family dynamics, focusing on how parents' actions affect their children and the family as a whole. We specifically focus on the parent's role and how their behaviors impact the family. Through a focus on effective communication skills, positive discipline techniques, and understanding of their children's emotional and developmental needs.
Talk Therapy
Online only at this time, this is designated for individuals to process and explore their thoughts, emotions and behaviors through an evidence-based modality like CBT. Typically, session are weekly or bi-weekly.
Personalized Coaching
Online or in-person, by integrating mindfulness practices with personalized coaching, we help you cultivate inner peace, clarity, and purpose. Our holistic approach empowers you to overcome obstacles, set and achieve meaningful goals, and enhance your overall well-being.
Psychotherapy Groups
Individuals seeking to process mental health concerns or life circumstances will be provided a safe space to learn about conditions, strategies, share experiences, and learn from each other. Participants will also be able to focus on the interactions and dynamics within the group itself for skill development and receive peer support.
